Description

Robotics with Electronic-  Level I - 1st phase to build fundamentals. 

Highlight of learning outcome:

  • Basic circuit theory & analysis such as Ohm's Law, circuit analysis, , passive and active component study, transistors, FETs, analog and digital theory

  • Reading schematics and datasheets, exploring PCB design;

  • Virtual circuit construction; real world programming & applications;

  • Programming in one of the most ubiquitous languages used in embedded system.

  • Set up hardware and software to prepare yourself for future practice at home;

  • Schematic sketching with a computer tool;

  • Electronics engineering concepts such as Analog and digital input/output, voltage divider, pull-up vs pull-down resistor, etc.

  • Programming with Arduino-Sketch-C;

  • Basic electronics concepts presented in Advanced Placement Physics C;

  • Interfacing with various analog and digital sensors;

  • Rudimentary exposure to I2C, Power regulation, Port manipulation, GPIO & ADC

  • Mini-challenge with Temp & humidity sensors, IMU (accel & gyro)

  • Transistors/switching

  • Charlieplexing LEDS

  • Multiplexing inputs/keypad

  • 4017 Counter

  • 555 timer

Prerequisites:

  • MUST possess High proficiency in Algebra I. A grade transcript or equivalent will be required.

  • Algorithms in C/C++ - Level I.  See syllabus here
